Aquaphor: There’s More Than Meets the Eye

Are you new to Aquaphor? If so, then you probably have a lot of questions.

Well, we have your answers. Check it out . . .

Question: What is it?
Aquaphor is a mix of occlusive moisturizers that addresses all kinds of skin ailments from dry skin, lips, and hands to cuts and burns. It acts as a protective barrier to seal in moisture.

This is why it’s easily a dermatologist favorite!

Question: Aquaphor has petrolatum jelly and mineral oil. Aren’t those bad for the environment?
Actually . . . no! The cosmetics industry gets these ingredients as byproducts from the oil industry. While “Big Oil” is a whole other beast, the cosmetics industry is actually keeping this ingredient from tossed into landfill

We may have to look into alternatives in the future, but for now, sales of these ingredients are doing the planet a service while we work to ween ourselves off of fossil fuels.

Question: Will it clog my pores?
In theory, no. All of Aquaphor’s ingredients are non-comedogenic; however, nothing beats actual trial to see if there’s error. A boring answer, but our answer nonetheless.

It’s not wild to have a hyped-up holy grail status product fail you; so, there’s a chance this humble workhorse of a product may not work for you. Just be sure that when you do test this out, that it’s the only thing you’re changing in your entire routine! We’re talking sleep, eat, and workouts, too.

No snake-oil sellers here!

Question: How do I get the most out of Aquaphor?
Here’s what you need to know:

Step 1, Stronger together: Humectants, emollients, and active ingredients can only go so far on their own! While Aquaphor won’t completely stop evaporation from your skin (this is a good thing), it will slow the process down to ensure your products do their magic.

Step 2, Water is your friend: The water you use to wash and cleanse is what’s going to hydrate your skin. If you completely towel dry off, you’ll be SOL and Aquaphor won’t be trapping anything. Say goodbye to that extra boost of hydration.

Step 3, Post-shower is the best time: With your skin soft and supple from a nice hot shower, the window for your skin to seal in that water at maximum capacity is within 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Otherwise, you’re SOL – again. If you’re still in the tub with the steam, even better!

You just received a great overview of Aquaphor. And while a short trip to the drugstore will go a long way in ensuring your most hydrated skin, people who’re serious about skincare will want to take it to the next level ASAP.
